For assured combinable-crop farms

Less paperwork.
More time.

Stores, crop lots, contracts, passports and movement records in one place. Grain Manager keeps track of what you've grown, what you've committed, what's left to sell and when it's due for collection — and quietly handles the compliance paperwork that falls out of it.

Free during the beta. Built with growers in real harvests. Export your data any time.

Why I built it

Farming is unpredictable enough on its own.

So many of the systems we use are antiquated, inefficient and eat up time we don't have. The honest truth is most of us rely on extra income just to keep farming — and the admin and compliance feel like there's no let up, no momentary escape.

I'm James, I run a small family farm in Essex growing combinable crops. In 2017 I got fed up with the endless time-consuming paperwork, so I started work on Grain Manager, built on a spreadsheet. I've been working on it every year ever since, adding features and refinements. It grew. It got powerful. I've moved past the spreadsheet now and Grain Manager has undergone a complete end-to-end redevelopment. It's got to the point where I wanted to share it with every other farmer who's fighting with paperwork. I've built this for me, and I've built this for you. I hope it helps.

What it does

The three things I'd actually show you first.

Everything else — passports, hygiene, records, compliance — falls out of these three naturally.

01

Saves you time, everywhere

Every compliance meeting. Every lorry you load. Every passport you fill in. Every contract you manage. The small jobs that stack up into a lost afternoon — Grain Manager quietly takes most of them off your plate.

02

Helps you sell smarter

See at a glance what you've grown, what you've committed, what's left in store and when it's due for collection. So when a price moves, you know exactly what you've got to play with.

03

Organises your records for you

Loads, passports, contracts, moisture, hygiene, treatments — all in one place, kept tidy in the background. When the auditor turns up, you open a tab, not a filing cabinet.

Who it's for

Built specifically for assured combinable-crop farms.

If you're growing wheat, barley, oats, oilseed rape, beans or peas on an assured farm, this is for you.

  • For small to large arable enterprises
  • Mixed farms with a combinable enterprise
  • Anyone on a farm assurance scheme
  • Farms whose harvest admin currently lives in a notebook, a shoebox, or a spreadsheet

Honest disclaimer: if you genuinely enjoy paperwork and filing, you won't get the most out of this. Grain Manager is for people who'd rather be growing their business — or maybe even taking a day off.

A connected grain network

One record, shared cleanly with the people who need it.

Grain Manager starts on your farm. Over time it joins growers, merchants, receivers, hauliers and farm managers — so a load weighed on your weighbridge, a passport you sign and a contract you agree become one tidy record across the whole chain.
