Terms of use
The rules of using Grain Manager.
The everyday terms covering your account, your data, and what we both commit to. The privacy counterpart sits in the privacy notice.
Last updated: May 2026 — Draft v0.3
About these terms
These terms apply to your use of Grain Manager, operated by James Mugleston (sole trader), Stapleford Abbotts, Essex, England. By creating an account and using the service you agree to these terms.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account.
- You're responsible for keeping your login details secure.
- You're responsible for what's done on your account, including by people you invite.
- Each account is for one farming business (small group memberships covered separately).
Your data
- The records you enter belong to you.
- We process them only to provide the service — see the privacy notice.
- You can export your records at any time as CSV.
- We won't sell your data, share it with merchants without your action, or use it to train AI.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful.
- Attempt to break in to other accounts or systems.
- Re-sell or sub-license the service to third parties without written agreement.
- Use the service in a way that puts other users' data at risk.
Beta participation
While Grain Manager is in beta, the service is provided free of charge to participating growers. In return, beta participants understand that:
- Parts of the product are still being built and may change.
- Bugs, gaps and rough edges are expected — and feedback is welcomed.
- Beta participants who stay active will be moved onto introductory pricing on or after public release, with notice.
- We aim for the service to be reliable, but we don't guarantee a specific uptime during the beta.
Pricing after public release
- The introductory price is £15 per month or £120 per year per farm account.
- Beta participants keep their introductory rate for as long as their subscription stays active.
- Prices are stated exclusive of VAT where applicable.
- You can cancel at any time. Annual subscriptions cancelled mid-term are not pro-rated unless required by law.
Service availability
We work to keep Grain Manager available 24/7. Planned maintenance is notified in advance where possible. We're not liable for unavailability caused by issues outside our reasonable control (for example, an internet outage at your end, or a major incident at a hosting provider).
Liability
Grain Manager is provided to support your farm's operations and assurance records. It is not a substitute for your own professional judgement or assurance scheme requirements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, during the beta, £100). Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Termination
- You can close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
- On closure, we'll keep your data for a short export window then delete it as described in the privacy notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be notified by email to active users at least 30 days before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
